Restorative/Yin Group Yoga Class
4 week series with Sangita Balsara, Yoga Therapist
Wake up, lengthen and strengthen your muscles, body and mind with a mindful slow flow Yoga practice followed by a series of floor postures held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. It emphasizes stillness and silence, and prepares both the body and the mind for a more meditative approach as you end the class in a restorative pose with a guided relaxation.
This class is suitable for everyone: beginners, seasoned practitioners, people with injuries, physical limitations and/or pain.
Yoga and/or Meditation experience is not required
No need to bring anything but yourself as yoga mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters will be provided.
Includes a personal 15 minute phone consultation with Sangita, in order to customize the class to your specific needs!
