Avni completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Counselling, from the University of Ottawa. She began her career at Carleton University’s counselling centre, and since has worked with youth affected by addictions, and with woman and children who are victims of violence. More recently, Avni works with an Employment Assistance Program supporting individuals and families move through life transitions and daily stressors. Avni understands how individuals experience depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship breakdowns, and the impact of trauma. She believes in cultivating awareness and acceptance, in order to facilitate self-discovery and innate strength.
Avni uses holistic and mindfulness approaches to support individuals and families. She is committed to creating a safe and collaborative environment, as the first step to facilitate a therapeutic relationship.
